We’ve reproduced the pepper mill designed by architect Peter Zumthor in 2006. The shape of this pepper mill was faithfully recreated through 3D scanning of the original design drawings and object, and further refined with meticulous adjustments overseen by Zumthor himself. Both the head and body are carved from a single solid piece of wood, then segmented afterward.
To distinguish between white pepper and black pepper at a glance, we’ve prepared two different materials: a white castor aralia and a dark brown wenge wood. Turning the adjustment screw on the head allows for grinding adjustment from coarse to fine. While the pepper mill spends more time sitting than being used in daily life, its presence itself embodies beautiful design.
