Raised floor buildings, which represented by Shosoin in Todai-ji Temple, have protected many art pieces from Japanese typical warm and humid weather and pests. We thought about whether we could use this predecessors’ knowledge to make furniture.

For Kura, we imitated the architectural style’s pillar system. We designed it so that light enters through the four sides, the silhouettes of the objects can be seen through the lattice door.
