The distinct dogleg shape of the legs are carved from a single timber. Using a joining method called agodashi, the parts that join at the centre are given a sense of oneness and strength. The legs are placed on the inside with an angle, not for design purposes but to prevent the knees from hitting when people sit anywhere at the table.
The round table has a part to connect the four legs in the centre, which are made from a single timber as well. The curved wooden connecting part gives increased strength to these legs.
